The problem was always the same. The solution never was.
The real-time location problem in healthcare isn't new. Hospitals have been losing IV pumps for decades. Nurses spend 30–45 minutes per shift searching for equipment that should be at the bedside. Staff duress incidents go unanswered because security can't find the right room. What held the market back was cost.
Legacy RTLS vendors built hardware-heavy systems with multi-month deployments and per-site contracts that only the largest health systems could justify. A 100-bed hospital could not access the same technology as a 1,000-bed network. Mid-size facilities could not justify infrastructure costs built for global enterprise rollouts.
We founded LOCATIX to close that gap. BLE technology has matured to the point where precise indoor positioning is achievable without the infrastructure overhead that legacy systems demand. Cloud-native delivery means no on-premise server to size and maintain. And a well-designed software layer means clinical teams can go live in weeks, not months.
The result is an RTLS platform that any hospital — regardless of size or IT capacity — can deploy, use, and grow with.
